During his degree course he attended the neurology department of the Polyclinic of the University of Catania for a period of 3 years as a volunteer doctor where he carried out a study on “Childhood Cerebral Palsy”

During the specialization course he participated in theoretical-practical activities in the Child Neurosurgery section of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Gemelli University Polyclinic, Rome) directed by Prof. C. Di Rocco for a period of 15 months.

During this training period he performed a retrospective study on the usefulness of early surgical intervention in patients suffering from lipomyelomeningocele.
